SOROTI — Renowned events promoter and businessman Balaam Barugahara and Parliamentary Backbench commissioner Solomon Silwany, who also the Bukooli Central Member of Parliament have been thrown out of State Lodge in Soroti by Special Forces Command (SFC).
State lodges are used by the President as residential places whenever he visits the countryside and they are manned by SFC, an elite unit responsible for the security of the President of Uganda and other special operations.
According to sources, Silwany was moving in his official Parliamentary car Reg No. UG 0344H along Balaam who is the Managing Director of Balaam Marketing and Promotions Agency in Uganda.
Balaam who is seen as a power broker for NRM and President Museveni has been camped in Teso subregion since Friday — allegedly campaigning for NRM presidential candidate who is also in the subregion.
A source said Balaam and Silwany were thrown out after they attempted to illegally gain access to the State Lodge in Soroti where President Museveni had spent a night after his campaign in Soroti.
They duo declined to comment on the matter but a source said they weren’t on appointment list to the State Lodge.
