Sixteen-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa have announced the signing of Isa Mugulusi.
The midfielder joins Villa on a three-year deal from fellow UPL side Busoga United FC.
Villa made the announcement of Mugulusi’s signing on Sunday, August 8th via their social media outlets.
Speaking in a video, Mugulusi described the decision to join Villa as ‘one of the easiest’ of his career.
“I am Ismail Mugulusi and i am a Jogoo. Mugulusi said.
“Joining SC Villa is one of the easiest decisions of my football career.”
Mugulusi says that the likes of Hakim Magumba inspired him to join the Jogoos.
“Reflecting on how other players have crossed the Nile and joined SC Villa like Hakim Magumba, i knew it was the right path.
“I thank my parents and the club for helping me and putting me on the forefront of this. I can’t wait to meet my teammates. To the Villa fans, we meet soon, i am here to win.”
Mugulusi was part of the Uganda Hippos team that finished second at the 2021 U20 AFCON in Mauritania.
He has been at Busoga his entire football career, so far.
He becomes the second official signing for Villa in the off-season following into the footsteps of defender Kenneth Semakula.
