Godfrey Lwesibawa, Muzamir Mutyaba and Eric Kambale were all on target as Express FC took care of Yanga Africans 3-1 in the CECAFA Kagame Cup on Saturday.

Having secured four points in their opening two game, victory sees Express finish top of group A with seven points.

Just like it has been the case in their first two games, Express started brightly and opened the scoring on 15 minutes through Lwesibawa.

The second came on 35 minutes with Mutyaba slotting in from close range.

After the break, the Red Eagles upped their tempo and they were rewarded as Kambale headed in Lwesibawa’s cross to make it 3-0.

Yanga pulled one back on 70 minutes through Paul Godfrey but the goal came too late for a comeback.

Express now await the runner up in Group B to know who their semi final opponent.

The other group A game saw Big Bullets defeat Atlabara 2-0 to secure second place.

How Express FC started

Joel Mutakubwa (GK), Enock Walusimbi, Arthur Kiggundu, Isa Lumu, Murushid Juuko, Mahad Yaya, John Byamukama, Muzamir Mutyaba, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Eric Kambale, Martin Kizza.
