The President of Uganda HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has advised the Uganda Olympics team to take caution while in Japan.
Like it has always been the case, Uganda will have an Olympics team at the 2020 Olympic games in Japan starting July 23 to August 08.
Museveni made these remarks while flagging off the team at Kololo Airstrip on Friday afternoon.
“You need to be careful of COVID-19 this time round because it has proved to be a very big issue every where even in Japan where you are going. Museveni told the athletes who were led by captain Stephen Kiprotich.
“Do not mix with anybody there and yes you are fully vaccinated but you can still catch the disease.
Museveni also congratulated all the athletes who qualified for the games and further told them to make the country proud by shinning.
“I congratulate all of you for qualifying for the games. You go there and don’t give up while competing so that you make yourself and country proud by shinning.”
The 2020 Olympics was postponed from last year to this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will take place between July 23rd to August 8th.
