The Uganda Bombers have learnt their opponents at the Olympic games which will officially open on Friday in Japan, Tokyo.

Skipper Shadir Musa Bwogi (Welterweight) received a bye to the round of 16 where he will face the winner between Sotomaya Colazo Lorenzo (Azerbaijan) and Madiev Eskerkhan (Georgia) on 29th July.

Uganda’s first ever female Boxer representative Catherine Nanziri at the global games will face off with Japanese Namiki Tsukimi in the Flyweight women category preliminary round on Sunday, 25th July.

According to the boxrec, Namiki has 15 amateur fights with 12 wins and 3 losses while Nanziri is ranked number four in Africa.

The winner between Nanziri and Namiki will lock horns with Sousa Grazielle of Brazil in the round of 16. Grazielle received a bye to the next round.

David Ssemujju Kavuma will face Algerian Younes Nemouchi on Monday the same opponent who defeated him in the semifinal of the Olympic qualification campaign in Dakar.

Ssemujju currently joint fifth in the World men’s middleweight rankings and number two in Africa will be facing off with the Algerian for the third time.

The Ugandan beat the Algerian in 2019 at the All Africa games before losing to the same opponent last year in Dakar.

The victor between the two African top boxers will face Marcial Eumir of Philippines who already made it to the round of 16 following a bye.
