MBALE – Mbale Heroes head coach Hussein Ali Kheri has passed on, the club officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Kheri, according to the club, passed on last night at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital – where he had been admitted.
The club Chairman Wycliff Mwambu announced: “It is with deep sorrow and profound shock that I announce the untimely passing on of our Head Coach, Mr. Hussein Kheri.”
“Coach Kheri has been with us for a period of close to three months having joined us at a time when we needed him most.
“He managed to bring his football passion to Mbale Heroes, which he has handled very well till his death.”
Kheri was appointed Mbale Heroes coach in April 2021 – replacing Bobic Odowa.
Kheri – who had handled a number of teams – both in Uganda and Kenya leaves Mbale in an already arkward situation after the club was ion Sunday demoted to a lower division after picking a goalless draw against Kataka FC.
