Wakiso Giants FC will be without forward Joshua Lubwama when they host Kyetume FC in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday afternoon.

Lubwama made his debut for the Purple Sharks this past Friady in the draw against Police FC but was forced off at half time due to pain in his muscle.

His absence was confirmed by Wakiso head coach Douglas Bamweyana as quoted by the club’s website.

“We pretty much have the same team from the previous game.” Said Bamweyana when speaking about the team news.

“We probably welcome Bukenya Lawrence on to the team and he comes in to replace the injured Joshua Lubwama.”

Lubwama now joins the likes of Hakim Ssenkumba, Ayub Kisalita, Alex Komakech and Tom Matsiko who are all still out with injury.

However, despite the injury concerns, Wakiso will be hoping to land their first three points of the season, in their opening home fixture.

This will also be Bamweyana’s first home game for the Purple Sharks after he was appointed head coach in the off-season.

“Generally, we are happy to play our first game at home against a very familiar opponent with whom we have not so bad record but we want do better, win the game and get on the right track as soon as possible.”

Wakiso and Kyetume both gained promotion to the top flight in the 2018/19 season.

They have so far met six times, each winning once and drawing the other four games.

Last season, they drew 1-1 in the corresponding fixture but Wakiso had won the first game 3-0.

The two sides have forged a rivalry of-sorts since their time in the Big League and always seem to be pumped up for the contest whenever they meet.

In their opening game of the season, Kyetume drew 1-1 at home to Kitara FC.

The other games to be played on

-Busoga United vs BUL FC
