KCCA FC 1-2 URA FC

Friday, 18-12-2020
URA FC beat KCCA FC to continue their fine record against the Lugogo based side.
The Tax Collectors did it the hard way, coming from a goal down to win the contest 2-1.
Benjamin Nyakojjo and Shafik Kagimu netted for Sam Simbwa’s side after Brian Aheebwa had opened the scoring with his 7th goal of the campaign.
KCCA FC who were coming off a 2-1 loss away to Villa, started the better side as they dominated proceedings.
Aheebwa and Sam Ssenyonjo who came into the game having scored 11 goals between them in just four games, were consistently asking questions of the URA defence.
Ssenyonjo blazed over while Aheebwa shot weakly at Alionzi Nafien in the Tax Collectors’ goal.
Sensing danger, URA made two quick substitutions with Ivan Sserubiri and Moses Sseruyidde replacing Julius Mutyaba and Arafat Galiwango respectively.
However, KCCA would eventually find the opening goal on 26 minutes. Samson Kigozi sent a brilliant cross into the area before Ssenyonjo headed it into the path of Aheebwa who nodded it home from close range.
Moments later, Aheebwa missed a glorious chance to double KCCA’s advantage as he blazed over from close range after pouncing onto a lose ball inside the URA box.
Against the run of play, URA equalized through Nyakojjo’s powerful header off a Brian Majwega’s in-swinging cross.
After leveling matters, URA missed from the spot. Substitute Sserubiri shot over from 12 yards after Herbert Achai fouled Sseruyidde in the area.
However, they made amends on 37 minutes through Kagimu who connected neatly with Joachim Ojera’s low cross to poke home his first goal of the season.
KCCA FC sent on debutant Bright Anukani in place if Lorenzo Mazano at the start of the second half in an attempt to flip the game on its head.
They created some chances with Ssenyonjo shooting over from a tight angle and Aheebwa first shooting wide and then seeing a goal bound shot charged down by Nyakojjo.
The victory send URA top of the standings with 11 points from 6 games.
For KCCA FC, they drop to 4th with 9 points.
In their next fixtures, URA FC host Express FC on February, 12-2021 while KCCA FC are away to BUL FC the day before.
