SC Villa ended KCCA FC’s 100% winning start to the Uganda Premier League thanks to a 2-1 victory on Tuesday, December 15.
The Jogoos who were coming off a loss to URA last Saturday, got the job done thanks to a goal in either half.
Nicholas Kabonge put them ahead on 33 minutes before Ronald Ssekiganda added a second with four minutes to play.
KCCA FC scored a consolation on 89 minutes but it was too late for them to stage a come back as Villa held on to win all three points.
The Jogoos who have now won two of their opening four games, now climb into 5th on the log with 7 points while KCCA FC drop to 2nd with 9 points.
At Lugogo, Police FC defeated Busoga United FC 3-0 to climb top of the standings.
The Cops who now have 20 points from four games, went ahead on 9 minutes through striker Derrick Kakooza.
Ben Ocen doubled their advantage on 24 minutes to ensure they head into the break with a two-goal caution.
Mubarak Nsubuga then killed off the game with Police’s third of the afternoon.
Busoga who have now lost three of their opening four games, are now 14th with just a single point.
At the FUFA Technical Center, URA FC registered their second victory of the season by beating BUL FC 2-0.
Last season’s top scorer Steven Mukwala scored both goals to take his tally to three for the season.
The former Maroons FC and Vipers SC striker got his first on 77 minutes before adding another deep into added on time.
Victory takes URA into 4th spot with 8 points from four games while BUL drops to 9th with four points after losing two and winning just one of their 4 games.
The game between Onduparaka FC and Wakiso Giants FC, at the Green Light Stadium in Arua, ended 1-1.
Onduparaka led through Kabon Living’s first half striker but Wakiso eqaulized in the second half thanks to Hassan Wasswa.
The Caterpillars are now in 6th spot with 5 points while Wakiso are in 8th, a point behind the former.
In Kavumba, Bright Stars FC powered from two goals down to beat MYDA FC 3-2.
MYDA started the better side and Joseph Wahampa put them ahead two minutes after the half hour mark.
They doubled their lead through star-striker Ibrahim Nsimbe on 52 minutes.
However, Ronald Ssempala pulle one back for the hosts on 68 minutes before equalizing with nine minutes to play.
In the third minute of the four added-on, Ibrahim Kasinde struck for the Stars to flip the game on its head and win the day for his side.
Bright Stars are now 10th with four points while MYDA are rock-bottom of the log after losing all their opening three games.
