MYDA FC vs Police FC

Police FC will be without the services of captain Tonny Mawejje when they take on MYDA FC at the King George Stadium in Tororo in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) on Tuesday.

Mawejje who marked his return to the UPL after several years away, last week, was injured in the 0-0 draw with Wakiso Giants FC at Lugogo.

Mawejje was stretchered off against Wakiso Giants.

It is a big blow for the Cops but they must be able to cope after making several signing in the off-season.

One of the other acquisitions include Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye who impressed on his debut.

Zaga will once again be tasked with making-play for Abdallah Mubiru’s side who historically creat a host of chances in their games.

Against MYDA, they come up against a league debutant who have had to wait six extra days to make their maiden bow.

MYDA were slated to face defending champions Vipers SC last Wednesday but due to the Venoms’ continental engagements, the game was postponed.

Ahead of the game, MYDA head coach Swamadu Musafiri noted that his side is excited to make their debut but are also ready for the challenge ahead.

“We are excited by the fact that we are going to play our first match in the top flight, noted Musafiri.

“We have prepared well and are absolutely ready for game-time.

“The league has just started for us after we missed out of the opening day. The mood in camp is fantastic and tge boys can’t wait to get started.”

MYDA are one of the favourites to go down at the end of the season but will be hoping the former Sadolin FC head coach can inspire them to safety in their maiden campaign among the big boys.

They take on Police without two unnamed players who tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

MYDA have acquired some experienced players in Norman Ojik, Doka Mweru and Willy Makuro. The trio is tasked with guiding he side throughout this campaign.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.

The other games to be played on Tuesday @4pm

-Wakiso Giants vs Kyetume FC
-Busoga United vs BUL FC
-URA FC vs Bright Stars FC
-KCCA FC vs Onduparaka FC
