Wakiso Giants FC vs Bright Stars FC

Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso

Friday, 18-12-2020 @4pm

Wakiso Giants FC will be without defender Hassan Wasswa when they take on Bright Stars FC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Friday.

Wasswa who scored in the draw away to Onduparaka FC on Tuesday is currently suspended due to accumulation of three yellow cards.

He joins Fahad Kawooya and Karim Ndugwa on the list of side-lined players for the game.

Hakim Ssenkumba, Tom Matsiko and Ayub Kisalita are also still out with long term injuries.

Even with the players absent, Wakiso who claim they want to challenge for this season’s title, are in desperate for victory on Friday.

They have started slow in this campaign, drawing all of their four games so far.

The latest was away to Onduparak FC early this week, leaving them in 10th spot on the standings.

“We are happy with the players present and i am sure they can get the job done. Said Bamweyana during his pre-match press conference.

“We have posted poor results in our first four games, registering draws but we are aware that a league is a marathon and we will soon start picking victories starting tomorrow (Friday) and others will drop point.

“We have not won yet but we need to start winning quickly and tomorrow gives us a good chance to do exactly that.”

Against Bright Stars, Wakiso comes up against a side that are also in hunt for points.

The Stars have already lost twice this campaign and sit two spots below the Purple Sharks with a similar number of points.

However, their last game saw them defeat MYDA FC 3-2 in a game that saw them come from two goals down.

Whether that will work as motivation for the Matugga based side against Wakiso, remains to be seen.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides.

Both of the first two games ended in a 1-1 draw.

The other game to be played on Wednesday
