Uganda Premier League
Police FC vs Busoga United FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
Tuesday, 15-12-2020 @4pm
Police FC will be hoping for a third successive victory in the Uganda Premier League when they host Busoga United FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Tuesday.
After the 0-0 draw at home to Wakiso Giants FC, the Cops have stepped up the gear, winning both of their last two games.
They beat MYDA FC 3-1 before hammering Kitara FC 5-0 last weekend.
The fine form that has seen them gather seven points from their opening three games takes Police into third spot, just two points behind joint-leaders KCCA FC and UPDF FC.
What they are saying ahead of the game
Abdallah Mubiru, Police FC head coach
“I thank God for the gift of life and every thing he has enabled us with so as we prepare for this game.
“We are well prepared for the opponent, they are a very tough group of players and team and have always challenged us.
“All in all, we are ready to counter their challenge. It is not going to be easy but i hope and pray we get the victory in the end.”
Denis Rukundo, Police FC assistant captain
“Busoga are a boggy team and we expect a hard game but after the two away wins, we are very hopefully to keep the winning touch going.
“The lads are well prepared for the game. Thank God we got the six points away from home and are now looking forward for the victory at home.”
Police head into the game with a few injury issues as they have up to five players absent with injury.
Tony Mawejje, Duncan Sseninde, Muwadda Mawejje, Johson Odong and Frank Tumwesigye are all expected to sit out the game on Tuesday.
For Busoga, they are desperate for points at the moment after a poor start to the campaign.
The students are currently in 13th spot with just a single point from threw games.
They have lost to UPDF FC and BUL FC already. Their only point so far came in the 1-1 draw with Kyetume FC on Friday.
This will be the 8th meeting between the two sides since 2016 with no away victory registered since. All 7 games played between them have ended in a home victory with Police winning their last home game against Busoga 3-2.
Last season, Busoga defeated Police 2-1 in the only game these two sides faced off. The second fixture was not played due to the Coronavirus out-break.
