CHAN 2020: Uganda Cranes to hold first training session on Monday

KAMPALA – The Uganda Cranes will get their training for the 2020 CHAN tournament underway on Monday, December 21.

The team which was announced on last week is understood to have entered camp at Paradise Hotel, on Sunday so as to start their preparations.

Monday’s session is expected to be a classroom (session) and it will take place at 4pm. All 28 players who were summoned last week are expected to attend.

The KCCA FC players were not summoned for the camp and will only join the team later after their CAF Confederations Cup engagements.

The Cranes’ first on-field training session will be on Tuesday, December22 at a venue yet to be communicated.

Uganda is preparing to take part in their 5th CHAN tournament but are yet to reach the knock-out stages of the competition that was started in 2009.

The Cranes will play in a four-nation invitational tournament in Cameroon prior to the CHAN 2020 finals tournament.

At the finals, Uganda is in group C alongside defending champions Morocco, Togo and neighbours Rwanda.
