The Uganda Hippos will be hoping to reach the final of the 2020 CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup when they take on Kenya on Monday, November 30 at the Black Rhino Academy Stadium in Arusha.

The Hippos finished top of Group B and will now take on their Kenya counterparts with the winner, on Monday, also sealing a slot in the U20 AFCON finals tournament in Mauritania 2020.

To reach this stage, Morely Byekwaso’s side drew 0-0 with South Sudan in their first group game before thrashing Burundi 6-1 to end the group stage on four points.

Ahead of the game, Byekwaso asserts that his charges have had enough rest since the win over Burundi and that they are ready to face ‘physical’ Kenya.

“We are prepared to give 100 percent, noted Byekwaso.

“Since the 6-1 win against Burundi, the players have had enough rest and focused for the semi-final clash.

“Kenya plays a physical game but we are ready to counter them’ Byekwaso disclosed.”

The news coming in from Tanzania indicate that the Hippos have a full strength side to face Kenya.

To reach this stage, Kenya finished top of Group C.

The other semi final will be played between hosts and defending champions Tanzania and South Sudan at the same venue at 3:30pm.
