The Uganda U17 boy’s national football team head coach Hamza Lutalo is feeling confident ahead of the upcoming U17 CECAFA championships.
Uganda will take on other nations in the CECAFA region next month, in a tournament that will also double as the qualifiers for AFCON U17.
The team entered residential training on Friday at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Speaking on Sunday, Lutalo noted that he is optimistic his side will cope up well and execute the task ahead.
“I am optimistic the players will measure up to the challenge at hand. Noted Lutalo as quoted by FUFA.com.
“Handling minors is totally different from senior players but we are trying our best to prepare them in the best way possible for the good results when the tournament resumes in December.”
Meanwhile the boys will undergo mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan this coming week before coaches consider reducing the number from the 52 that was summoned.
Uganda is the reigning champions of the CECAFA U17.
If they can replicate the, performance they will qualify for the CAF finals in Morocco next year.
