Byekwaso names final Hippos’ 20-man squad for AFCON Zonal Qualifiers

U20 CAF AFCON Zonal Qualifiers
Arusha, Tanzania
23rd November – 6th December, 2020

The Uganda U20 men’s football national team head coach Morley Byekwaso has announced the final 20-man squad set for the upcoming U20 CAF Africa Cup of nations Zonal qualifiers.

Uganda is set to take part in the under-age tournament that will be hosted between November 23 and December 6, in Arusha-Tanzania.

Usual suspects Gavin Magweri, Aziz Kayondo, Bobsi Byaruhanga, Asaba Ivan, Jack Komakech and Najib Yiga have all been included in the traveling team alon with singer Bebe Cool’s son Alpha Ssali and Proline’s Ivan Bogere.

The team that has been training for close to three weeks will travel to Tanzania on Friday aboard Uganda Airlines.

The tournament has three groups with hosts and defending champions Tanzania in group A alongside Somalia and Djibouti.

Uganda is in Group B where they will do battle with Eritrea, Burundi and South Sudan.

Group C has Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan.
Uganda’s first game will be against South Sudan on November 23.

Ssenyondwa Denis Kaala, Bbosa Richard, Kayondo Abdu Aziizi, Musa Ramathan, Kizito Mugweri Gavin, Semakula Kenneth, Mugulusi Isma, Sserwadda Steven, Bogere Ivan, Bukenya Joseph Kizza, Asaba Ivan, Kafumbe Joseph, Onyai Raymond, Mulindi Ashiraf, Byaruhanga Bobosi, Basangwa Richard, Wabyoona Faisal, Yiga Najib, Komakech Jack, Ssali Alpha Thierry.
