KAMPALA – Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC have unveiled Simone Masaba as their assistant head coach.
Masaba is understood to have signed a three-year deal with the Tax Collectors and will serve them in the above mentioned capacity until 2023.
URA announced Masaba’s appointment through a banner that was posted on their social media handles, bearing the former right-back’s name alongside a captions ‘Assistant Coach’.
Masaba will deputize head coach Sam Simbwa and now joins a technical team that also features the likes of George Lutalo, Augustine Nsumba and Billy Kiggundu.
Masaba is making a return to a team that he served for six years as a player, winning the league title in 2011 and two Uganda Cups (2012 and 2014).
The former national team defender also had spells at SC Villa and Police FC.
Of late, Masaba has been an assistant coach at Onduparaka FC, a role he executed from 2017 to 2010.
Last season, URA FC finished 5th with 39 points from 25 games.
