Uganda Cranes holding midfielder Khalid Aucho has secured a move to Al lttihad Alexandria.

Aucho has signed a two-year deal at the Alexandria based side, crossing from fellow Egyptian outfit Misr El-Makkasa.

He joined Misr last year-on a two-year deal from Indian side Churchill Brothers, following a successful 2019 Africa Cup of nations with Uganda.

Last season, he played 21 games for Misr scoring two goals.

It is understood that Aucho has been on Al lttihad’s rader ever since he netted for Misr when the two sides met in September.

He has previously played for JMC Hippos, Water FC and Simba FC in Uganda, Tusker and Gor Mahia in Kenya, South Africa’s Baroka FC, Red Star Belgrade and OFK Beograd (both in Serbia) plus East Bengal in India.

He has over 40 caps with for the Cranes and was part of the team that represented Uganda in the 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

At Al Ittihad, Aucho joins teams up with fellow Ugandan-Emmanuel Okwi.

Other Ugandan players currently plying their trade in Egypt include Allan Kyambadde (El Gounah), Derrick Nsibambi (Smouha SC) and winger Abdu Lumala (Pyramids).
