Rashid Okocha has signed a contract extension with Arua based Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka FC.
The left-back who has been linked with a move away from the Caterpillars is understood to have renewed his deal by a year.
The proceedings were confirmed by Onduparaka FC on Saturday, October 3.
“JayJay is Staying”. Onduparaka announced via a caption on a Twitter video.
Okocha will now head into his third year with the West Nile giants whom he joined from Nebbi Central in 2017.
His stay comes as a relief for Onduparaka who have already lost four key personnel ahead of the forthcoming 2020/21 season.
Hassan Muhamood, Abel Eturude and Ezra Bida plus assistant coach Simone Masaba have already left in the current off-season.
However, they have also brought in new faces such as Ronald Odokonyero, Moses Okot, Noel Nasasira, Oscar Agaba, Gabriel Matata and Jerry Jakisa.
The club has also secured tactician Vialli Bainomugisha who will lead them as the head coach.
Last season, Onduparaka finished 8th with 31 points from 25 games.
