Arua Hill Sports Club have hit the current transfer market with all they have.
The Big League side has made several acquisitions as they bid to ensure they reach the Uganda Premier League next season.
Early this week, they completed their seventh signing as Iddi Abdulwahid penned a contract with them.
Unlike the first six signings who came with bags of experience in Ugandan football, Abdulwahid is just signing his first contract.
Iddi emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the FUFA Junior League.
He featured for Onduparaka JT between 2016 and 2018 and scored a total of 31 goals.
In 2019 he spent three months with Italian side Cagliari F.C Academy before he was called for
national duty with the Uganda Cubs for whom he has scored five goals in ten appearances.
He represented the national U-17 team in CAF U-17 2019 AFCON qualifiers and scored a brace in the fixture in which the Cubs beat Ethiopia in regional final to qualify for tournament that took place in 2019 in Tanzania.
Speaking after penning the deal at Arua Hill Sports Club, Abdulwahid could not hide his excitement upon joining the club despite having several other options.
“I am too excited and very happy because I’ve signed my very first contract and I hope to repay the trust. He said.
“I have observed the coaches in a training already and they are good.
“With efforts from me, self-confidence and once there is confidence, which I have, it is my defence and that is how prepared I
am for the challenge.
“There was interest of course from other clubs but I have so much faith in my agent who is my guardian, and good manager, so once he disapproves or approves a move, I follow.
“He suggested that I join here and he knows why. All I am left with is to prove myself in the pitch and other issues, he handles them.
“I am here to promote the club to elite League and hopefully open doors for professional career
overseas.”
At Arua Hill, Abdulwahid joins other new signings including Mike Kawooya, Dan Birikwalira, Rashid Agau, Collins Onega, Paddy Muhumuza and Ceaser Okhuti.
