Ex SC Villa striker Bashir Mutanda has completed a move to Mbarara City FC.
Mutanda moves to the Ankole Lions on a one-year deal that will see him at the Mbarara based side until next year.
He was officially announced as an Ankole Lions on Wednesday, September 16.
He moves to Mbarara City FC as a free agent after his contract with Villa expired in June.
At Mbarara, the powerful striker is expected to fill the void left by Brian Aheebwa who moved to KCCA FC last month.
Mutanda is a graduate of the FUFA Juniors League and has previously featured for Vipers SC as well as Kirinya Jinja SS (now known as Busoga United).
He joined SC Villa in 2018 and went on to score 13 league goals in his first season with the Jogoos.
He joins former Light SA FC duo of Ronald Edwok and Godfrey Kalungi and defender Karim Ramathan as the other new signings confirmed by Mbarara City FC this off-season.
The club has also recalled midfielder Samali Farouk from a season-long loan at FUFA Big League side Kigezi Homeboyz FC.
After a disastrous start to last season, Brian Ssenyondo’s side finished 7th in the Uganda Premier League table last season with 36 points from 25 games.
