KAMPALA – Express FC have continued their recruitment spree, completing a 13th off-season signing.
Denis Mugerwa is the latest addition to the Red Eagles as they continue preparations for the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season.
The right-back joins from Tooro United FC and signed a two-year deal.
During his unveiling, Mugerwa expressed his delight to be joining a ‘big’ club.
“I am glad to finally join this big club. He noted.
“As a defender, i know it is important that me and my colleagues all work as a unit to get results.”
Mugerwa will once again work with Wasswa Bbosa as his head coach following a brief spell with the two at Tooro United FC.
He also joins six other players that were at the Car Dealers last season. The others include Cryspus Kusiima, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Charles Musiige, John Byamukama, Faizo Ssekyanzi and Ibrahim Kayiwa.
Mugerwa was understudy to Musa Mukasa at Tooro United last season but would become first choice eventually as the season wore on and in the process, register two assists.
Express FC will become his third club having been at Water FC between 2015 and 2019.
In an attempt to replace released players, the Red Eagles have now signed 14 players already.
The others that have so far come in include, Denis Otim, Richard Bbosa, Abel Eturude, Baker Sakah, Isaac Nsengiyunva, Yaya Mahad Kakooza, Kiragga Mustafa, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Cryspus Kusima, Charles Musige, John Byamukama, Ibrahim Kayiwa and Faizo Ssekyanzi .
Last season, Bbosa’s side finished 9th with 31 points from 25 games.
