WANKULUKUKU – Express FC have on September 11, unveiled their 10th signing ahead of the forthcoming 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season.

Forward Charles Musige is the latest addition to the Red Eagles’ fold and his signing was announced on Friday afternoon.

He joins Wasswa Bbosa’s side from relegated UPL side Tooro United FC. Musiige is also the third acquisition from the now Big League side, following into the footsteps of goalkeeper Cryspus Kusiima and winger Godfrey Lwesibawa.

Upon his arrival, the tricky forward was quick to emphasize that he is at Wankuluku to ensure Express regains its glory days.

“I am happy to be a Red Eagle, only the best join this big historical club. Said Musige.

“Like my teammates, the focus is on reclaiming glory and coming in as a forward i hope to score as many goals as possible to help the team.”

Musige had a decent season-last with Tooro United FC despite the team finishing bottom of the UPL.

The 24-year old scored five league goals and assisted six others in 20 games but his performances that occasionally caught the eye of revelers could not save the-then troubled side.

Before the Fortportal stint, Musige had featured for Big League side now Nyamityobora FC where he’d found the net thrice and added four assists in as many games.

He becomes the second striker to join the club after Mustafa Kiragga who joined from South African side Alexandria FC.

Having let go of over 15 players, this comes as no surprise that the Red Eagles are signing players at such a high rate as they have to replace the outgoing individuals.

Express finished 9th with 31 points from 25 games last season.
