KAMPALA – Midfielder Tom Masiko has completed a permanent move from Vipers SC to Wakiso Giants FC.

This comes after Masiko spent the entire 2019/20 season on loan at the Purple Sharks where he impressed.

It is understood that the former KCCA FC player has put pen to paper on a thre year deal that runs until July 2023.

The confirmation of the move came on Tuesday morning, with Wakiso Giants stamping it.

“We are delighted to announce that Tom Masiko has joined the club on a permanent contract from Vipers SC.” Read part of a post on Wakiso Giants FC official website.

Last season, he scored four goals and contributed as many assists for Wakiso. He is also remembered for having scored the Purple Sharks’ first ever top flight goal.

Speaking after signing the three-year deal, Masiko said that he wants to make history with Wakiso and also thanked Vipers SC for his time at Kitende.

“I am happy to make a permanent move. I had good time here last season and want to continue my marriage with the club as well as create history here. Noted Masiko.

“I want to thank Vipers for the great time I had at Kitende, the coaches that have handled me and all my teammates as well as management.”

Masiko becomes the fourth player to permanently move to Wakiso in the off season with the club having already secured Ibrahim Kasule, Satulo Edward and Pius Kagwa.

The Purple Sharks have also secured the services of former Express FC, SC Villa and Maroons head coach Douglas Bamweyana.

Wakiso finished last season in 10th with 30 points from 25 games.
