KAMPALA – Express FC have been busy in the transfer window of late, signing several players as they continue preparations for the upcoming season.

On Tuesday, August 25, they completed their sixth signing of the off-season.

The player in question is Godfrey Lwesibawa who signs after running down his deal at Tooro United FC.

Lwesibawa who was once at Express earlier in his career has signed a two-year deal that will see him at Wankulukuku until 2022.

During his unveiling, the pacey-energetic forward express his delight to be re-joining the Red Eagles and says he wants to win the league title with his new club.

“I am so happy to rejoin the club and the ambitions couldn’t be any different. He said as quoted by the club’s official website.

“We all want to win the league, a feat we can all achieve if we work as a unit.”

Lwesibawa is not only re-joining Express FC but also re-uniting with former boss Wasswa Bbosa who is the head coach of the Red Eagles.

Bbosa and Lesibawa worked together at SC Villa and Tooro United FC in the past.

They were also at Express between 2014 and 2016. In his first spell at Express, Lwesibawa managed 8 goals and 25 assists in as many games.

He joins five other signings in Cryspus Kusiima and Denis Otim both goalkeepers, centre back Richard Bbosa, creative midfielder Abel Eturude and forward Kiragga Mustafa.

Last season, Express finished 9th with 31 points from 25 games.
