Bayern Munich completed a near to perfect 2019/20 season with victory in the Champions League final.

After winning the German Bundesliga and DFB Pokal earlier, the Bavarians have now won the treble, their second in history.

In a hotly contested affair, Kingsly Coman’s second half header won the day for Hansi Flick’s side who looked the better side throughout the 90 minutes.

This is Bayern’s sixth Champions League title and they now move joint third-level with Liverpool, on the list of most successful clubs in the competition.

Bayern will now take on Sevilla FC in the UEFA Super Cup after the Spanish side beat Inter Milan 3-2 in the Europa League final played on Friday.

For PSG, their wait for a first Champions League title continues and it is more disappointment for their owners who have invested heavily in the team.

With the 2019/20 European calendar coming to a close, the French Ligue One made its return this past weekend.

On Friday, Bordeaux and Nantes shared spoils in a 0-0 draw in what was the very first game of the new season.

On Saturday, Angers overcame Dijon 1-0 away from home with Ismael Traore scoring the winning goal.

Lille and Rennes both had a player sent off as they drew 1-1 on the same day.

On Sunday, a much-changed Monaco side came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Reims, Lorient were 3-1 winners against Strasbourg, Nice beat Lens 2-1 while Nimes thrashed Brest 4-0.

Nimes are now top of Ligue One with three points, level with sides but with a superior goal difference.

The other teams with three points include Lorient, Nice and Angers.

Ligue One will resume next weekend with all 20 teams expected to be in action.
