KAMPALA – Steven Mukwala will not be at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC next season.
This is after the striker opted to join Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC instead.
Mukwala who top scored in the Uganda Premier League last season, during his one year loan stint at Maroons FC, had in the recent past been strongly linked to the Kasasiors but a move failed to materialize.
It is believed that the Uganda U20 goal-getter asked for what KCCA FC deemed as an outrageous sign-on fee.
The two parties also failed to agree on the duration of the initial contract with Mukwala preferring two years yet Mike Mutebi’s side wanted to tie him down on a three year contract.
The former Vipers SC striker is understood to have signed a two year deal with the Tax Collectors and will feature for them until the summer of 2022.
He has been a free agent after his contract with the Venoms expired in June.
After securing Mukwala to a deal, Sam Simbwa’s side are now hoping to seal the signings of Proline FC defender Mustafa Mujuzi, Villa midfielder David Owori and former KCCA FC playmaker Jakson Nunda.
