Bayern Munich vs Freiburg
Allianz Arena, Munich
Saturday, 20-06-2020 @4:30pm
Bayern Munich wrapped up an eighth straight Bundesliga title with victory over Werder Bremen last time out but such is the ruthlessness of Hansi Flick’s side, they are unlikely to take their foot off the pedal against Freiburg this weekend.
Robert Lewandowski’s 31st strike of the season earned the Bavarians a 1-0 win against relegation-threatened Bremen last time out and another low-scoring clash could be on the cards at the Allianz Arena.
Flick may well opt to rotate personnel and give a handful of second-string talents a chance and although that reduces the chance of a thrashing, they should still claim maximum points.
Bayern may have achieved their goal this term but Freiburg still have their sights set on a Europa League berth in a season where they have defied expectations.
In their last three contests they have claimed the scalps of Borussia Monchengladbach and Hertha Berlin either side of a respectable draw away to Wolfsburg, the main side they are jostling with for seventh spot.
While Nils Petersen has proven to be a key attacking outlet this season, defensive solidity has been central to their league position, with four of their last seven league fixtures featuring under 2.5 goals.
Even against the division’s big guns they have managed to keep the score lines respectable, losing by a 1-0 scoreline to Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen since the turn of the year, earning a 1-1 draw away to Leipzig and beating Gladbach 1-0.
Bayern Munich have won their last 11 matches in the Bundesliga. Three of Freiburg’s last four league fixtures have featured under 3.5 goals. Bayern Munich have kept clean sheets in three of their last five games.
RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund
Red Bull Arena, Leipzig

The Bundesliga title is gone but second place is up for grabs when RB Leipzig host Borussia Dortmund in the penultimate round of fixtures in Germany’s top flight.
It was a 3-3 classic when the teams met in the dark nights of December and this summer sizzler should be just as exciting but if there is to be a winner second-placed Dortmund look the better option to take care of Leipzig, who are in third spot just three points behind the Yellow-Blacks.
Dortmund will be looking for a massive response after being sunk in surprising fashion by Mainz 2-0 on Wednesday, yet that only goes to show away teams are running riot in the Bundesliga since the league returned to action.
That has worked in Dortmund’s favour before – they have won each of their last five away trips – and tend to play their best football when the pressure is off anyway.
We predict that will play into their hands against a Leipzig side who, although deserving of a Champions League berth, have struggled to kill teams off recently and could have their minds on the finals tournament of the Champions League which is to come in August.
The draw no bet looks a sensible option seeing as Leipzig have drawn eight of their nine games against their fellow top-six opponents but Dortmund are the more likely winners.
Dortmund have the upper hand against Leipzig when it comes to their range of options in the final third.
Lucien Favre’s men have managed to score 36 goals in their 16 matches away from home this term and are worth backing to take maximum points in their final away game of the season.
Timo Werner bounced back to form with a cracker for Leipzig in the 2-2 draw against Fortuna Dusseldorf in midweek, although the fact he has since signed for Chelsea in a deal for next season could leave him more distracted in normal.
Borussia Dortmund have won their last five away matches in the Bundesliga Leipzig have drawn eight of their nine games against the top six. Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings. Leipzig have conceded in 14 of their 16 home Bundesliga matches.
Hertha Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen
Olympia Stadion, Berlin
Saturday, 20-06-2020 @4:30pm
Bayer Leverkusen need only to win their final two Bundesliga fixtures to guarantee Champions League football next season and they can do half the job by beating Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion.
Hertha enjoyed a superb start to life under new manager Bruno Labbadia but have lost their last three fixtures on the spin against Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg.
Qualifying for Europe is out of the question for the capital club now and, although they may still have aspirations of a top-half finish, they will not be as hungry for maximum points as the visitors.
Leverkusen lead Borussia Monchengladbach by a point going into the weekend’s action and are fresh from a 3-1 win over Cologne.
They have lost twice since the Bundesliga’s resumption but both of those defeats – against Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich – came at the BayArena.
They have been brilliant on their travels in the league this season, with ten of their 17 league wins coming away from home and the dilution of home advantage with no fans in the stands only plays into their hands.
Peter Bosz’s men should still be operating on the front foot with top-four hopes on the line and a German Cup final against Bayern Munich, which will also take place at the Olympiastadion, to look forward to.
Not only do they have star midfielder Kai Havertz, who has netted 12 league goals this term, to call on but Kevin Volland, Lucas Alario and Leon Bailey have also inflicted plenty of damage in the final third.
Bayer Leverkusen have won four of their last six away contests in the Bundesliga. Hertha Berlin have conceded at least two goals in three of their last five league matches. Both teams have scored in 17 of Hertha Berlin’s 32 league games this season.
Paderborn vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Benteler-Arena, Paderborn
Saturday, 20-06-2020 @4:30pm
Paderborn now know they will be playing next season in the second tier of German football and their latest Bundesliga voyage is likely to go out not with a bang but with a whimper.
The basement boys had more possession and had ten efforts in their visit to Union Berlin on Tuesday but came away with nothing, the 1-0 defeat sealing their fate.
That result also means they are winless in their last 13 Bundesliga assignments and that was when they had something to play for so with little incentive to win, they are unlikely to cause too many problems for Borussia Monchengladbach.
Gladbach themselves got back to winning ways on Tuesday, thumping Wolfsburg 3-0 to make amends for successive defeats to Freiburg and Bayern Munich.
The Foals are still in pursuit of a top-four berth and will leave nothing to chance when they pay Paderborn a visit.
They netted three of their four shots on target last time out without Alassane Plea or Marcus Thuram, their two top scorers this season, in the matchday squad, reiterating this is a team full of goals.
Borussia Monchengladbach have lost only two of their last seven away matches in the Bundesliga. Three of Borussia Monchengladbach’s last four matches have featured over 2.5 goals. Paderborn have scored in each of their last ten home matches in the league.
