KCCA FC will be without a host of first team players when they take on BUL FC in the Uganda Cup round of 16.

The Kasasiros who have recently been hit with an injury crisis, have to also deal with the national team as players were not released from camp.

“We have prepared well for the game but only to be disappointed by FUFA and the coaches of the national team, Mutebi noted ahead of the game.

“They have refused to allow our players to come and play the game, abusing the calendar that was drafted by the competitions committee.

Charles Lukwago, Mustafa Kizza, Samuel Kato, Herbert Achai and Julius Poloto are all with the national team and not part of the team.

Mike Mutyaba, John Revita and Muzamiru Mutyaba are injured and will also not take part in the game.

Despite the absentees, KCCA FC will head into the contest as heavy favourites to reach the next round.

Mike Mutebi’s side are the joint record winners of the competition having triumphed on 10 times previously.

With Express FC having been eliminated at the previous round, the Kasasiros have a realistic chance to become the outright record winners.

The cup is also KCCA FC’s most realistic chance to qualify for the continent next season.

With just five games to play in the league, KCCA trails Vipers SC by four points.

To reach this stage, KCCA eliminated CATIDA and Bukedea Town Council at the rounds of 64 and 32 respectively.

On the other hand, Dove who are coached by a former KCCA player Robert Ssekweyama progressed to this stage with a 5-0 drubbing of New Villa from Fort Portal at the round of 64.

At the round of 32, Dove eliminated Water 2-1 at the Katushabe play ground in Masindi.

Proline is the defending champion of the competition having defeated Bright Stars on penalties in last year’s final.
