JINJA – Hassan Alwi Jr was the overall winner of the IUEA Jinja rally that commenced on Saturday, March 7 and ended the following day.
He beat the rest registering a time of(1: 19: 19: 2) while Ponsiano LwakatKa and Arthur Blick Jr posted (1:20:32:3) and (1: 22: 50: 6) respectively making them qualify for the podium positions.
Alwi’s win together with his Navigator Joseph Kamya had tripple happiness as title sponsor for the rally and as well as celebrations for his birthday that was over the weekend.
He took charge of his game right away from Saturday beating other contenders such as Ronald Sebuguzi, Rajiv Ruparelia, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Arthur Blick Jr and Yassin Nasser-the champion in 2019.
Some of the stiff competitors such as Duncan Mubiru alias Kikankane the winner of the Rukaari -Mbarara Rally bowed out after his car ramed into fellow driver Lubega Nasser.
The IUEA Jinja l rally also had the Kyabazinga of Busoga makie his debut which created a lot of hype in the speed game as well as numbers who thronged to enjoy the sport.
This was the second round of season and had a big stake in regards to ones’ chances of winning the National championship. Let us look out for the third round slated for April 3- 5 , in Masaka.
