Busoga United takes care of Kyetume to climb into 3rd

Busoga United FC maintained their winning run as they dispatched Kyetume FC on Tuesday afternoon.

The Students who came into the game having won all their last three games won the contest 1-0 at the Mighty Arena in Jinja.

Striker Lawrence Tezikye scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

After Kyetume custodian Joel Mutakubwa brought down Shafik Kimbowa, Tezikye who has been in decent recent form took responsibility to convert the resultant kick on the half hour mark.

The rest of the game could not produce further goals as the Students held on to register their 13th victory of the season.

Speaking after the games, Busoga United head coach Abby Kikomeko outlined his side’s targets and.

“We are performing very well ever since the second round started, noted Kikomeko.

“We have an obligation to win which ever game we play at home and it is good that we are winning consistently.

“Our target at the start of the season was to finish among the top 5 and we will continue pushing on.”

The win takes them to 42 points for the season and into 3rd spot.

Abby Kikomeko’s side are now two points ahead of 4th placed URA FC who face Police on Friday.

For Kyetume, they stay in 9th with 29 points from 25 games.

In their next fixtures, Busoga will be away to Vipers SC while Kyetume will host BUL FC.

The other day’s fixture ended scoreless as KCCA FC were held by Proline FC at Lugogo.
