Uganda Premier League
Maroons FC vs Busoga United FC
Luzira Prisons Stadium, Luzira
Friday, 21-02-2020 @4:30pm
Times are not good at Maroons FC as the team is increasingly likely to be dragged into the relegation dog-fight.
After a good start to the season that saw them climb as high as 3rd at some point, things have gone extremely south.
The team can not win a league game at the moment and have slumped closer to the relegation zone than any other side currently out of the bottom three.
Douglas Bamweyana’s side are currently in 14th, just two points away from the drop zone.
The situation has led to speculation that current head coach Douglas Bamweyana may be sacked on Friday if the team does not win.
However, the former Express FC and SC Villa tactician is hoping for victory.
“Our target is to win as many games as possible and we hope to get all three points against Busoga United, noted Bamweyana.
“It has been a difficult last few weeks for us but we can not let our heads fall at this moment.
“We are not thinking about relegation at the moment because we want to win as many games as possible starting with the one on Friday.”
However, it will not be easy for Maroons to topple Busoga United.
The Students are coming off a morale boosting 3-0 victory over URA FC.
This is their second win in three games with the loss to Bright Stars FC coming in between the victories.
Currently in 5th, Busoga know that three points on Friday may see them climb into 4th at the end of the day provided URA FC does not beat Vipers on the same day.
Match Facts
This will be the 6th meeting between the two sides since November 2017.

The first meeting between the two sides this season ended in a 1-1 draw.
