Uganda Premier League
SC Villa vs Onduparaka FC
Mandela National Stadium, Namboole
Wednesday, 19-02-2020

SC Villa are having an unbelievably good season so far and continue to impress.

They were expected to struggle after doing likewise last campaign and not bolstering their squad in the off season, but have done the complete opposite.

Currently, they sit third on the table, with some of their fans dreaming of a 17th league title.

The title maybe realistically out of their reach as they sit 13 points off the top but they are willing to continue winning so as to finish as high as possible.

They head into Wednesday’s fixture on a six match unbeaten run, winning five and drawing the other.

In their last game, the powered to a 2-1 victory over Proline FC and that was followed up with a round of 32 defeat of Kajjansi United in the cup.

Speaking ahead of the game on Wednesday, Villa head Edward Kaziba says his side is eyeing three more points against Onduparaka.

“Our target is to win the games against Onduparaka and nothing will satisfy us apart from a win, said Kaziba.

“Onduparaka are a good side but we know we have better qaulity and hopefully we can make that count.

“We are currently third on the table and we will try to win as many games as possible and finish as high as we can.”

Onduparaka will also be seeking a return to winning ways after losing both of their last two games.

The Caterpillars lost to Vipers before they also went down to Express in their latest fixture.

Despite losing several key players in the last transfer window, Onduparaka have remained a decent side and will surely pose serious question to Villa.

Match Facts

This will be 8th meeting between the two sides since October 2016.

In the past seven match-ups, Villa have won four and Onduparaka three with no single draw registered.

Last season, Onduparaka registered a league double over Villa which included a 1-0 victory at Namboole.

The first meeting between the two sides ended in a 3-1 victory for Villa.

The other games to be played on Wednesday @4:30pm

-Express FC vs Tooro United FC
-Kyetume FC vs Mbarara City FC
-Proline FC vs BUL FC
