KAMPALA – Real Stars Sports Awards will crown the best performing athletes of the month of January.
This will be on Monday 17 at a ceremony set to be held at Copper Chemney in Lugogo at 10am.
Kawempe Moslem and Crested Cranes U17 captain Juliet Nalukenge is among the three that will tussle it out for the football gong.
Nalukenge who had a stellar 2019 has seen her incredible scoring form continue into 2020, netting vital goals for both the U17 and U20.
She will face stiff competition from URA FC duo of Cromwell Rwothomio and Saidi Kyeyune.
The pair were also in inspired for as they both netted several goals and URA FC went unbeaten in both the Cup and League throughout January.
In the football coaches’ category, the three nominiees have also be named.
Ayub Khalifah of both the Crested Cranes U17 and Kawempe Moslem will be hoping to win the award.
URA FC’s Sam and Bright Stars FC’s Paul Kiwanuka are the other two coaches in the mix.
In Boxing, it will be between David Semujju, Doreen Nasali and Isaac Masembe.
The other award of the day will go to a rugby player and the nominees are Heathens’ duo of Scot Oluch and Joseph Oyet plus Kobs’ Daudi Ssemwami.
The Real Stars Sports Awards are one of the most consistent and reputable awards in Uganda.
Startes in 2018, the awards continue to recognize sporting excellence amongst individuals month in and out.
One of the maiden winners is footballer Joel Madondo who currently playes for Wydad Casablanca in Morocco. Madondo won his Real Stars Sports Award while still at Busoga United FC.
