Mbarara City FC 1-0 Police FC

Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara

Friday, 07-02-2020

Substitute Brian Aheebwa scored a 92nd-minute goal to ensure Onduparaka defeated Police FC 1-0 on Friday.

The striker who had earlier replaced Ivan Eyam, poked home the winning goal off a Solomon Okwalinga assist.

It was a cagey affair that saw laminated goal-mouth action and the home side asking the more questions.

Okwalinga forced a brilliant save from Davis Mutebi while Jude Ssemugabi missed from a header.

This is Mbarara City’s third victory of the second round and eight overall. It sees them climb into 8th with 29 points from 21 games.

For Police, they have now lost 10 games this season and drop to 13th with 22 points.

In their upcoming fixture, Mbarara is at home to FHL FC in the Uganda Cup before they travel away to Kyetume FC in the League.

Police on the other hand host Bright Stars in the League in their next encounter.
