KAMPALA – Ugandan Sports website Football 256 has launched an E-Series league for Uganda’s gamers.

This was announced on Wednesday via their official website.

“Football256 E-Series is a form of football competition played using video games, noted Football256 Public Relations Officer Brian Aheebwa.

“The championship will be played in four series with the inaugural series of the 2020 season slated for March 2020,”

“The championship is open to all gamers who believe they have what it takes to be the Football256 E-Series champion.”

The series are expected to attract the best gamers across the country.

The tournament played on the famous EA Sports FIFA 20 game will comprise of 64 teams, played for six rounds with only one champion.

How the series will be played;

Teams of three with a fourth member as a reserve will compete on a knockout basis until the finals where the winner will be decided.

The teams will compete in sets of threes where Team-A of three players each plays against Team-B, also with three players. The winner in a best of three series will advance to the next round until the final.

Teams will accumulate points that will be compiled at the end of every series, and it’s from those points that the overall winners will be crowned at the end of the final series.

How teams will earn points on the leaderboard;

Five Points for every game won with a 3-0 scoreline

Three points won for every game won with a 2-1 scoreline

A point for every goal scored

In case of a tie for every goal scored, goals conceded will be considered

The top eight teams of every championship series qualify automatically for the next championship series and start competing at the quarterfinal stage.
