There was late drama in Bombo as URA FC defeated KCCA FC 2-1 at the Arena of Visions in Bombo on Friday.

The Tax Collectors scored twice inside the last five minutes of the game and also let in one in what was a thrilling encounter.

A Cromwel Rwothomio penalty and Saidi Kyeyune’s strike propelled Sam Simbwa’s side to victory while Herbert Achai netted KCCA FC’s consolation goal.

With the game headed for a scoreless draw, Nicholas Kasozi was judged to have handled in the area on 85 minutes prompting referee Muhammad Nasser to give URA a penalty.

Former Paidha Black Angels captain Rwothomio took responsibility and netted to hand the hosts the lead.

Three minutes later, Lukwago relinquished possession off a free kick and was punished by Kyeyune for 2-0.

A minute into additional time, Achai pulled a goal back for the Kasasiros but it was not enough as Mike Mutebi’s side succumbed to a fourth loss of the season.

It was one that did not go with just points but also two injuries as Julius Poloto and John Revita were forced off in the first half.

KCCA FC had earlier in the game had chances to take the lead but could not capitalize.

Kizza saw along range shot tipped over by Alionzi Nafian while the custodian was on hand to parry a teasing Mike Mutyaba cross with several KCCA FC players waiting to pounce.

The loss means KCCA FC miss the chance to climb onto the summit of the league as they remain on 41 points, two adrift of leaders Vipers SC.

For URA FC, they climb into fourth with 33 points from 20 games.

In their next fixtures, KCCA FC are at home to Maroons on Tuesday while URA will face Kyetume in Jinja next Saturday.
