Maroons FC vs Proline FC
Luzira Prisons Stadium, Luzira
Friday, 10-01-2020 @4:30pm

LUZIRA – Maroons FC will play host to Proline FC at the Luzira Prisons Stadium on Friday ad both sides get their second round underway.

The hosts will be desperate for points after ending the first round on a low.

Douglas Bamweyana’s side started the season in high gear, surprisingly winning five of their opening 10 games.

However, things started falling apart as they failed to win any of their last five.

Some of the poor form can be attributed to the disorganization brought about by a change in home as Maroons were forced to vacate Luzira Prisons Stadium due to a poor playing pitch.

Now that they have settled down again and will host games there, they will be hoping for victory.

In Steven Mukwala, Maroons have the league top scorer and will be praying he continues in the same vein throughout the second round.

Proline too come into the game wanting all three points.

The Lugogo based side ended the first round bottom of the standings with just 9 points and five away from safety.

Part of the situation was self inflicted as they refused to honour a home game against SC Villa hence docked six points.

Things looked to have finally fallen into place for Proline until they lost both of their last two games of the first round.

A victory for Proline on Friday will see them get off the bottom of the log provided Bul FC beats Bright Stars away from home.

Match Facts

This is the 8th meeting between the two sides in the top tier.

In the previous 7 meetings, Proline FC have won three, Maroons two with the other couple ending in 1-1 draws.

Maroons have never lost a game at home to Proline, winning once and drawing the other two.

Proline defeated Maroons 3-2 in the first meeting of the campaign. However, the reverse fixture last season ended 1-0 in favour of the Prison side.

Maroons head into the game without victory in their last five games. (D3 L2).

At home, they have won just one of their last six (D2 L3).

For Proline, they head into the contest having won one of their last five games (D2 L2).

Away from home, they are yet to win a single fixture this season (W3 L5).
