KCCA FC registered their third victory of the Uganda Premier League second round on Tuesday as they defeated Kyetume FC 2-1 on Tuesday.
Goals by Sadat Anaku and Erisa Ssekisambu did the trick for Mike Mutebi’s side who have won both of the last two titles.
As early as the 9th minute, the Kasasiros took the lead through Anaku who connected neatly with Erisa Ssekisambu’s cross.
However, on 24 minutes, Anaku was forced off with injury and was replaced by Nicholas Kasozi.
Two minutes to the break, Ssekisambu scored a second to ensure a healthy caution for KCCA FC at the break.
Kyetume who are yet to register a single victory in the second round failed to get going throughout the game.
Jackson Mayanja’s side made all three changes with Vincent Kayizi, Matah Otheno and James Semambo and Danis Lubowa, Steven Kagoda and Jonathan Mugabi all coming off but none could inspire a come back.
KCCA too made another change in the second half with Musa Ramathan replacing Mike Mutyaba late in the game.
At the end of the game, Ssekisambu was rewarded with the man of the match accolade for his performance on the day.
Victory elevates KCCA FC to 41 points from 19 games but they remain second on the standings.
The Kasasiros are now two points behind leaders Vipers SC who drew 0-0 away to Mbarara City FC on the same day.
For Kyetume, they stay in 13th with 17 points from 19 games.
