Busoga United continues winning start to second round, beat Mbarara City FC

Busoga United FC maintained their fine start to the Uganda Premier League second round with victory over Mbarara City FC at the Mighty Arena in Jinja on Saturday.

Having defeated both Express FC and SC Villa earlier, the Students defeated Mbarara 1-0 make ut a perfect three victories in as many game.

Tezikya Laurence scored the only goal of the game, netting the winner 27 minutes from time.

It was a game of a few chances for either side, highlighted by former Busoga United FC striker Joel Madondo bidding farewell to his former team at half-time.

Madondo was making his final appearance before completing his move to Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.

Victory for Busoga is their 8th in 18 matches having drawn three and lost the other seven.

It sees them climb into 7th on the standings with 27 points.

For Mbarara, this was their 8th loss of the season and it sees them drop into 9th with 22 points.

In their next fixtures, Busoga United will be away to Onduparaka FC on Tuesday while Mbarara hosts Vipers SC on the same day.
