Police FC 1-1 Proline FC
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Friday, 22-11-2019

Police FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Proline FC at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Friday.

In an eventful match which saw nine yellow cards ditched out by referee
Ronald Madanda, both goals were scored in the first half.

Hamis Diego Kizza put Proline ahead on 14 minutes, slotting in past Davis Mutebi in the Police goal.

However, 10 minutes later, it was back to how it started.

Ben Ocen who came into the game on 8 goals, converted from the spot after custodian Bashir Ssekagya brought down eventual man of the match-Andrew Kigozi.

It was a disappointing afternoon for youngster-Bright Anukani who limped off injured before the break.

His replacement Noordin Bunjo thought he had restored Proline’s lead moments after coming on but the tricky attacking midfielder’s effort was ruled out for offside.

Despite both sides creating further opportunities in the second half, neither could find the winner as the game ended all square.

The draw means Police finish the first round on 12 points from 15 games, only good enough for 14th place on the 16 team-log.

For Proline who have now played 13 games, they remain bottom of the standings with 9 points.

The other game played on Friday saw Maroons FC hold Vipers SC to a 1-1 draw at the Luzira Prisons Stadium.

Fred Amaku gave the hosts a first half lead but Fahad Bayo would later restore purity for the league leaders.

It was a game of several talking points as Maroons were denied two penalties and the one that Bayo converted for the visitors was one for a lengthy debate.
