Sunday, 18-11-2019

LUGOGO – UCU Canons came up big in the 4th quarter of their game two semi-final series against Power to win it 66-62.

The Canons who lost game one on Wednesday trailed by 5 points with 3:41 on the clock but went on a run of 14-05 to ensure the series are tied at 1-1.

It was a tough day for the Mukono based side as they trailed 19-20 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw both sides share spoils 17-17 to see Power hold a one-point lead at the long break.

In the third, Power would exercise their authority to win it 14-10 and enter into the last 10 minutes with what looked like a healthy 5-point caution.

However, it would be UCU’s game as they took the 4th 20-11 and win game two 66-62.

The combination of David Deng and Titus Lual was in inspired fashion in the winning effort. Deng scored a game-high 20 points while Laul grabbed 17 rebounds.

Isaiah Ater was the only other Canon to breach the 10-point mark with 11 points on the night.

For Power, Syrus Kiviri, Isaac Afidra and Fahmy Ssebatindira all registered double figures in terms of points, managing 14, 16 and 10 respectively.

In the Ladies division, JKL Lady Dolphins took a 2-0 lead in their series against KIU Rangers thanks to a 51-41 victory on Sunday.

The Lady Dolphins also won game one on Wednesday 54-46.
