Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry has made three changes to the team that drew 0-0 away to Burkina Faso on Wednesday.

The Cranes are minutes away from their second AFCON 2021 Qualifier against Malawi at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

In the team that has been announced, Bavis Mugabi slots in at center-back alongside Murushid Jjuuko as former KCCA FC captain Timothy Awanyi drops to the bench.

At right-back, Nicholas Wadada starts while Joseph Ochaya retains his role at left-back.

William Kizito Luwagga also gets the nod to start. He replaces the injured Abdu Lumala who is not part of the match-day squad.

The other chance sees Vipers SC striker Fahad Bayo comes in for Patrick Kaddu.

The Uganda Cranes starting team against Malawi

Denis Onyango (GK), Nicholas Wadada, Joseph Ochaya, Murushid Jjuuko, Bevis Mugabi, Khalid Aucho, Mike Azira, Kizito Luwagga, Emmanuel Okwi, Faruku Miya, Fahad Bayo.
