WANKULUKUKU – Joel Madondo scored once and assisted the other as Busoga United defeated Express FC 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The forward was in inspired form, netting the openner and assisting Boban Zirintusa’s winner.

Receiving a pass from Zirintusa, Madondo rounded Express FC goal keeper Tony Kyamera before slotting into an empty net to hand the visitors a deserved lead on 13 minutes.

In the second half, Madondo who had troubled Yiga Muhammad all afternoon, made a brilliant run down the left before sending a low cross into the path of Zirintusa to tap into the back of the net.

Either side of Busoga’s double, Frank Kalanda equalized for the Red Eagles, converting from the spot after Douglas Muganga brought down Isaac Doka in the forbidden area.

It was a tricky affair for both sides as the surface was unpleasant following the concert that was hosted in the stadium on Sunday.

Express had chances to take the lead but Yiga headed Ssenyondo’s cross straight at Rogers Omedwa in Busoga’s head before Kalanda robbed Abubakar Otwao of the ball inside the area but surrendered it to the alert Otwao.

Doka found himself in acres of space inside the Busoga area but headed Ssenyondo’s cross wide.

Ssenyondo was causing all sorts of issues for the Busoga back-line and he also lined up a cross for Kalanda to head over.

Disan Ggaliwango who has impressed for the Red Eagles since the season started, looked out of sorts throughout the day.

He teed up Daniel Shabena but the midfielder blasted over .

The result piles more pressure on Express FC head coach George Ssemwogerere who many Red Eagles faithful feel deserves the sack.

Loss for Express means they have won just one of their five home games this season (D1 L3). It leaves them in 12th spot with 10 points from 10 points.

For Busoga, they climb into 4rd position with 16 points.
