Maroons FC host SC Villa at the Lizira Prisons Grounds in the Star Times Uganda premier League (UPL) on Saturday.

All eyes will be on Douglas Bamweyana who was the former coach of SC Villa but was fired before the season ended and now he coaches Maroons.

He was voted September’s best coach by the UPL after beating Villa’s Edward Kaziba and has led his club to 5th with 12 points, three points below second placed SC Villa who have 15.

Bamweyana who replaced Moses Basena at Villa was not appreciated despite helping the club beat the drop and although he was sacked before the club officially beat the drop he will have a point to prove on Saturday.

Team News

Bamweyana will need attackers Steven Mukwala, Pius Obuya, Solomon Walusimbi and Rashid Agau get the best results of the day.

For SC Villa, Fred Amaku who suffered a lower back strain is expected to play a part after missing the last games, midfielder Davis Mayanja returns after serving his one-game suspension of yellow cards accumulation. Edgar Bwogi is also expected to return from injury as well.
