SC Villa left-back John Adriko has become the latest signing at Mbarara City FC.

Adriko who spent last season at Villa is understood to have signed a one-year deal with the Ankole Lions and will feature for them in the upcoming season.

Adriko struggled for playing time at Villa last season especially in the first half of the season, with Derrick Ndahiro the preferred choice under both Douglas Bamweyana and Moses Basena.

Even with Ndahiro unavailable, more often, it was center-back Habib Kavuma who slotted in to fill the void.

With all not going well at Villa currently, Adriko has decided to seek solace at Mbarara City FC.

However, it will also not be a walk in the park at Kakyeka as he still has to upstage Jasper Ahebwa for a starting slot in the team.

Adriko has previously featured for SC Villa, Kitara FC and Ssese in the Masaza Cup.

He becomes the fifth major signing for Brian Ssenyondo’s side who finished 5th in last season’s StarTimes Uganda Premier league.

Their first game of the 2019/20 season will be at home to Proline FC at the Luzira Prisons Stadium.
