Saturday, 10-08-2019
KCCA FC squandered a first half lead on their way to a 2-3 loss away to African Stars in the CAF Champions League first round on Saturday.
In the first leg played at the Nam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek, Namibia, Mike Mutebi’s side took the lead inside 13 minutes off a wicked deflection by defender Kamberique.
However, the Kasasiros could not hold onto the lead going into the break, conceding an equalizer by Ambrosious Amseb on 40 minutes.
With 19 minutes to play, the home side turned the game on its head as Yossouf Ibrahim put them 2-1 ahead.
Patrick Kaddu replied with KCCA’s second of the day on 82 minutes to temporarily level the scores once again.
However, moments later, Yossouf struck again to hand African Stars the lead once again, one they held onto until the end.
The result means that KCCA FC are now required to win the second leg by at least 1-0 so as to go through to the playoff round.
