
Just a few days to the start of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league 2019/20, Kyetume FC have unveil their squad.
Kyetume who finished third in the 2018/19 Big League will be featuring in the top flight for the first time since inception in 1977.
While addressing journalists at the unveiling held at Jobia Hotel in Mokono on Monday, club chairperson Ruben Kaggwa announced that their primary target is to stay in the league.
“We can even finish inside the top five but our first target is to stay in the league and avoid relegation, said Kaggwa.
“We just have to be given enough chance. We were semifinalist in Uganda cup and that should speak volumes.”
Kaggwa also added that the crop of players at Kyetume’s disposal, are well trained.
“We have made enough recruitments,” Mubiru said, continued Kaggwa.
“Our boys have been well trained and we have put up good structures and all the necessary arrangements to drive us forward.”
Kyetume have been impressive in the market, securing thw services of several experienced players ontop of retaining others.
The key players that have been signed include Isaac Kirabira, Baker Buyala, Sam Ssenkoomi and Joel Mutyaba.
Some of the big names that tmhave bewn retained include Captain Vicent Kayizzi, Robert Ssentongo and Patrick Ochan.
Kyetume will set the tone when they take on record winners SC Villa on Thursday night at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The Slaughters will seek to take advantage of their underdog status to upset teams this season.
Unveiling the squad and whole working committee in a function held at Jobia Hotel in Mukono on Monday afteenoon, Club chairman Ruben Mubiru Kaggwa claimed that his side has what it takes to compete favourably.
