Mauritania vs Tunisia

New Suez Stadium, Suez

Tuesday, 02-07-2019 @10pm

Tunisia will entertain Mauritania on Tuesday evening in a group E contest at New Suez Stadium.

Tunisia who currently occupy second place in the group with two points need a win to seal a place into the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mauritania are bottom in the group with only a point and can also make it to the next round in case they prevail against their day’s opponents.

The Eagles of Carthage have drawn both of their first two group games, with an identical 1-1 results against Angola and Mali respectively.

Tournament debutants, Mauritania lost miserably 4-1 to Mali before playing out to a goalless draw with Angola in their previous contest.

Tunisia is undefeated in last five games, winning three and drawn twice whereas Mauritania is on a negative run of three back to back games without a victory, lost twice and drew once.

Both sides have previously faced off 5 times with the North African side winning 4 and the other ending in a draw.

Alain Giresse coached side will look up captain Wahbi Khazri who scored in their last encounter with Mali alongside Anice Badri and Youssef Msakni for victory

The lions of Chinguetti will have their hopes in Adama Ba, Ismael Diakite and Khassa Camara for their first ever win in the competition.

-Guinea-Bissau vs Ghana @7pm

-Benin vs Cameroon @7pm

-Angola vs Mali @10pm
