Proline losses to APR in CECAFA opener

This was Proline’s first ever Kagame Cup game.

Proline lost its first game against APR 1-0 on Saturday in the CECAFA kagame Cup tournament held in Rwanda.

Proline held on till the 90th minute and conceded in added time after Bernard Muwange fouled in box.

APR had many shots on target especially in the first half but Proline goal keeper Hassan Matovu continuously denied them.

Proline looked so lost and was a bit lousy the whole time during the game but they would be excused since its there first time and APR had the home advantage.

Speaking after the match head coach Shafic Bisaso said it was a good game and he is here to learn and he hopes to win the next game.

“Even though we lost the game, it was a good one and we are in the learning process” Bisaso said.

He also added that he’s motivated with the team he has, even though losing is painful.

“As a coach, am motivated with the team I have, we lost in added time and it’s painful but we are going to correct our mistakes”. He added

Captain Noodrine Bunju said he didn’t expect to lose and all he wanted was to win the match but he hopes to win the next one, he also admitted that APR was a better side.

“Losing wasn’t part of our plans today but we are going to win the next Match and APR was a better side because of the pitch advantage. ” Bunju said.

In the first of the day, Zambia’s Green Eagles won 2-0 against Somalia’s Heegan.

Proline is pitted in group C with APR, Green Eagles and Heegan FC.
